Barefoot Man Stole Laptops from NoHo Offices, Police Say

By DNAinfo Staff on August 11, 2011 9:52am

MANHATTAN — Police have released a video of two men skulking around a NoHo office building where they allegedly swiped several laptops.

The black and white footage, which cops say was taken from 625 Broadway, shows an apparently barefoot man wearing shorts and a tank top, with a backwards hat and a piece of clothing slung over his shoulder, lurking around the hallway.

Footage from the same camera also shows a man in jeans and a polo shirt walking down the hall and possibly talking on a cell phone, police said.

Police say the figures shown in the video were there to burgle the offices — located above the former Gonzalez Y Gonzalez Mexican restaurant, just north of Houston Street — and managed to make off with several laptop computers.

The alleged heist took place at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, according to cops.

Police described one of the men as 5-foot-10-inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, and the other man as having a medium build and 5-foot-8-inches tall, 150 pounds with a thin build.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers' website or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637) and entering TIP577.
