MANHATTAN — Gramercy grub-spot Blue Smoke received top honors in a recent round-up of the country's best barbecue joints, compiled by Gourmet Live, the iPad version of the shuttered food mag.
The article, which listed the favorite BBQ restaurants of the winningest pit-masters from the competitive barbecue circuit, called out Blue Smoke for its Memphis–style baby backs, seasoned with chef Kenny Callaghan's "Magic Dust."
“They really hit the tender mark, and they use a sweet glaze I really like,” Myron Mixon, a three-time winner of the Jack Daniel's World Championship, told Gourmet Live, of the Manhattan ribs.
Harlem's Dinosaur Bar-B-Que also made the list, singled out by BBQ champs Bill and Barbara Milroy of Denton, Texas.
