EAST VILLAGE — Police have released a photo of a man wanted for an attempted bank robbery on Second Avenue this week.

The suspect walked into the Bank of America branch at 72 Second Ave., at the corner of East Fourth Street, at 10:30 a.m. Monday and passed a note to a teller demanding cash before fleeing the location empty-handed, police said.

He is described as in his 40s, 5-foot-5 tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing a white shirt and carrying a black backpack, police said.
