MANHATTAN — A robber wearing a surgical cap held up a Midtown CVS after a string of botched attempted raids across the city, police said.

The man walked into the store with a hand covering his face, an arm stuck up his shirt in an attempt to resemble a gun and a green surgical cap covering his hair.

He fled after stealing cash from the 320 Fifth Avenue store at noon on Sunday.

Police said he went on to attempt another robbery at Duane Reade on 2035 Broadway, at 70th Street, just four hours later but failed to get cash, police said.

Since April, the suspect has tried to rob at least three stores around the city, but failed each time, the NYPD said.

The first attempt was at a Duane Reade on 873 Broadway, at East 18th Street, on April 28.

Last Friday, he hit a Starbucks at 450 Seventh Avenue, near Penn Station, and on Saturday,  a Cosi at 841 Broadway.

The suspect is described as a white male between 5-foot-7 and 6 foot tall, and about 200 pounds, police said.

He wears a gray sports jacket, blue jeans and dark sunglasses, according to police.
