DOWNTOWN - A construction worker was injured when he was hit in the chest with equipment at the World Trade Center site Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The incident unfolded just before 5 p.m. at 1 World Trade Center, which was once known as the Freedom Tower.
The worker was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in unknown condition.
The skyscraper, which is being built, is set to rise to 1,776 feet, including a television antenna, making it the tallest building in the city.
In February, a worker sustained a cut to the head when he fell 10 feet at the site, according to the New York Post.
