TRIBECA — Two women suffered head injuries Friday after being hit by a van at the intersection of Greenwich and Reade Streets.
"All I saw was a bunch of people standing around and two ladies on the ground in the street," said Travis Holt, 28, a personal trainer at a New York Sports Club which overlooks the intersection.
Emergency services received a 911 call at 4:49 p.m. One of the women was in her 30s, and the other in her 40s, an FDNY spokesman said.
Witnesses said the van remained at the scene.
"When I got there, one was bleeding from the back of her head and the ear," said Peter Betancourt, 59, a concierge at Reade House on the Park at 31 Greenwich Street. He said that many people, including himself, called 911.
The two women were taken to Bellevue Hospital with head trauma, according to the FDNY spokesman.
