MANHATTAN — LCD Soundsystem is getting ready to go out with a bang, cramming as much as possible into their last week as a band.

The band tweeted "one week!" this morning, as they prepare to start a week-long run of shows, starting Monday night at Terminal 5 and finishing the week on Saturday at Madison Square Garden.

While all shows have been sold out for weeks, the band released tickets for Monday night's show late that afternoon.

"[D]on't need to buy on the street! 130 tickets for sale on the door tonite!" the band tweeted.

The three-hour final concert at Madison Square Garden, dubbed "The Long Goodbye" by frontman James Murphy will be live streamed internationally on Pitchfork.com. The music site says the stream will not be replayed.

When the first tickets went on sale for the final concert, they sold out within minutes, as the system was overwhelmed by scalpers. Unable to buy tickets, fans soon found they were available on Stubhub, eBay and other reselling outlets — for up to 12 times the face value.

To try to cater to the fans desperate to see the last performance, the band announced last week that they will play four countdown shows at Hell’s Kitchen venue Terminal 5 every day this week from Monday to Thursday, before the big Saturday finale.

In order to counteract the scalpers, these tickets are will-call only, meaning they must be collected by the buyer at the door upon entry. These extra shows too, however, sold out in less than 45 minutes.

An extra 1,500 tickets were released for the Madison Square Garden show at 10 a.m. Monday morning after incredible demand prompted organisers to restructure the stage to allow more audience standing places.

Madison Square Garden’s concert organizers wrote on Facebook that they plan to place a wreath of fan names in LCD Soundsystem’s dressing room at the concert, and will photograph fans who arrive dressed in funeral attire before the concert begins. They will also run a reel of fan photos on a "Eulogy Board" in the arena.

Fans can send their photos in via Facebook for a chance to be featured.

The band, who have been together 10 years, released three albums and earned three Grammy nominations, announced their retirement via a post on their website February 5.
