GREENWICH VILLAGE — Neighborhood residents plan to fight against pop-up eateries that don't "have ties to the community" at a Community Board 2 meeting on Thursday, according to Eater.

Residents are worried that pop-up restaurants, like John Fraser's recent "What Happens When" at 25 Cleveland Place, are using their temporary status to obtain liquor licenses without "going through the proper and legal procedures," the food blog reported.

Because of their temporary nature, residents are concerned that they are being left out of the loop when it comes time for the installations to open, according to Eater.

In the case of "What Happens When," the restaurant inherited its liquor license from previous tenant Le Jardin Bistro, and now that the license is up for renewal, the pop-up will have to face CB2's SLA Licensing Committee, Eater reported.
