EAST VILLAGE — Table-tennis fans got into the swing of things as a new ping-pong table was unveiled in Tompkins Square Park.

Park-goers squared off with staff from the Parks Department after the permanent concrete table was placed near the popular dog run at the center of the park on Saturday.

The tables was donated by local company Henge, which manufactures all-weather outdoor tables for use in public settings.

Henge president Alan Good faced off with Manhattan Parks Commissioner William Castro in a friendly match to help inaugurate the structure.

"You sweat," Castro said of playing, "but it's a casual sweat."

The table was dedicated to former longtime Tompkins Square Park supervisor Harry Greenberg, who recently retired after more than two decades at the post.

"I always wanted it to be here," said Greenberg, 57, noting that the Parks Department originally thought to install the table near the park's handball courts, but instead decided to move it closer to the bustling center of the green space.

"I think people are going to want more of them."
