TRIBECA — TriBeCa resident and film director Edward Burns has decided to name his next movie in honor of his neighborhood: "Triangles Below Canal."

Burns, a longtime TriBeCa resident who is also a well-known actor and director, broke the news on his Twitter feed Monday afternoon.

"New title for Newlyweds," Burns wrote. "Triangles Below Canal. FYI the whole movie takes place in TriBeCa."

Burns, 43, has dropped other hints about the movie in the past few months.

On Feb. 9, he tweeted that the film "is a companion piece of sort to Sidewalks on NY. So if u dig that one, you should like the next one."

"Sidewalks of New York," a 2001 movie that Burns directed and starred in, followed the lives of six New Yorkers navigating complicated relationships. Burns played Tommy, a TV producer who was dumped by his girlfriend.

Burns tweeted Feb. 17 that the new script has been difficult because he is trying to replicate the tone of "Sidewalks."

"Right balance of humor and drama while keeping the characters real," he wrote.

Burns has also turned to Twitter for ideas on the script.

"working on the newlyweds," he tweeted Dec. 2. "looking for a great stripper name. any suggestions?"
