MIDTOWN — Grand Central Terminal may be the Apple Store's newest location, the New York Observer reported.
Citing "reliable" sources, the paper said Apple has begun looking at the possibility of opening a store at the historically landmarked site but has not yet begun the approval process.
Spokespeople representing Apple, the MTA, which manages the station, and Grand Central's leaseholder would not comment on the store to the Observer.
Apple's glass cube at its Fifth Avenue location is the fifth most photographed site in New York, the paper reported.
The company is famously discreet about it's real estate holdings and, while its representatives would not comment on the possible Grand Central branch, other players involved did not deny the deal to the Observer.
Some businesses in Grand Central are already well-versed in Apple products, with some using iPads in place of traditional cash registers.
