MIDTOWN — Midtown munchers will soon get to experience a new twist on an old favorite when Swissmaker opens its first pretzel outlet in the city near Times Square.

The Swiss purveyor, which is set to open March 1 at 732 Seventh Ave. between West 48th and 49th streets, will sell gourmet soft pretzels and nuts as well as an array of pretzel sandwiches and pretzel desserts, according to Aaron Gavios, the executive vice president of Square Foot Realty, who represented the landlord in the deal.

"It's a very unique pretzel," Gavios said of the venture, which will be run by the couple that founded Switzerland's largest pretzel chain.

The pretzel chain formerly operated a location in Miami, Fla., where its desserts earned consistently high reviews, according to website Yelp.
