STUYVESANT TOWN — A small kitchen fire broke out in a Stuyvesant Town apartment Monday afternoon.
The smokey blaze broke out in the eight-floor apartment at 1 p.m., fire officials said. It was brought under control roughly a half-hour later.
A woman who lived in the apartment smelled smoke while she was folding clothes in her bedroom and called 911, fire officials at the scene said.
There were no injuries reported, fire officials said.
Roughly 60 firefighters responded to the blaze in the 13 story building.
