MANHATTAN — Get ready for round two.
Despite the fact that Manhattan is still reeling from the Dec. 26 blizzard, another round of snow is in the forecast for Friday, meteorologists said.
The snow is due to a low-pressure system currently moving over the Great Lakes, according to forecasters.
"While not the powerhouse blizzard of Christmas weekend, it will produce a broad area of 1- to 3-inch snowfall, but also a narrow band of heavy snow with six inches or more," said Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski on Accuweather's website.
Manhattan's forecast calls for three to six inches on Friday and Friday night along with a high of 35 degrees during the day. It's expected to taper to flurries for Saturday with high temperatures staying in the low to mid-30s for the weekend, meteorologists said.
Friday's snow could snarl air traffic at the region's airports and will make driving difficult for commuters trying to get home to start their weekend, forecasters warned.
The snow amounts are a far cry from the storm that dumped 20 inches of snow during the Christmas holiday and ground the city to a frozen halt as subways stopped running, airports closed and roads remained unplowed.
Until the snow arrives on Friday, New Yorkers can expect temperatures in the mid to upper 30s for the rest of the week, forecasters said.
