CITY HALL — Alternate side of the street parking rules — the bane of so many New York drivers' existence — could soon become less of a drag.

On Tuesday morning, the City Council’s Transportation and Sanitation committees are set to consider a trio of bills that would significantly ease parking restrictions on residential streets.

The laws would limit the number of days that alternate side regulations are allowed to be in effect and would reduce the number of street cleaning days.

They would also allow cars to park on the restricted side of the street as long as the driver is still inside the car or the street has already been swept.

"It's a matter of quality of life as it is also looking out for working class people who live in those communities, paying thousands of tickets every day," City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, a sponsor of two of the bills, told NY1.
