MANHATTAN — A New York City news reporter severely injured his face Sunday night when a Halloween reveler pulled him off a float at the Greenwich Village parade, the Daily News reported.

Arthur Chi'en, a TV reporter for WPIX, landed head first, fracturing his face in six places, after a man dressed as a clown grabbed his arm in an attempt to scale the float, according to the News.

Chi'en, who has won three local Emmy's for his reporting, will have to endure a month-long recovery process after his reconstructive surgery on Thursday, the paper said.

The parade-goer who pulled Chi'en from the float fled the scene while the reporter was unconscious, the News said. There have been no arrests related to the incident.

Chi'en made headlines in 2005, when he accidentally used the "f-word" on air, responding to two men who were causing a ruckus behind him during a live-feed.

The New York-born reporter was fired by his then employer WCBS as result of the incident, prompting outrage from fans, before he was eventually picked up by WPIX.

Tweeting on Tuesday, the veteran reporter was again turning to his fans for help.

"[A]nyone have a friend over at NY Eye & Ear on E 14th st?" he wrote. "[I] need a favor."
