MANHATTAN — New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision to pulled the plug on Access to the Region's Core (ARC), according to reports.

Christie made the decision after a nearly hour-long meeting with the U.S. transportation secretary, the Associated Press reported.

Citing soaring costs, Christie announced just yesterday that he was scrapping the multi-billion-dollar project, which would have doubled commuter capacity from New Jersey to Midtown with two new tunnels running under the Hudson River into a vastly expand Penn Station.

"Gov. Christie and I had a good discussion this afternoon, during which I presented a number of options for continuing the ARC tunnel project," Secretary Ray LaHood was quoted as saying.

The two reportedly agreed to put together a small working group that will consider alternate options and present to the governor within two weeks.
