MANHATTAN — A man has been charged with a gay-related hate crime after he and four pals allegedly beat up three men they'd seen kissing on a Chelsea corner and screamed, "Go home f--gots! This is our neighborhood," according to a criminal complaint.
Andrew Jackson, 20, was arraigned on numerous charges, including assault as a hate crime, after prosecutors said he and four unidentified men attacked three friends as they hugged and kissed each other goodbye on West 25th Street late Friday night.
Jackson punched two of the men in the face, before picking up a garbage can and swinging it at the friends, according to the criminal complaint.
All three friends had to be treated at Bellevue Hospital for injuries that night.
Jackson's bail has been set at $7,500 cash.
