MANHATTAN — The race for Governor continues to resemble a Jerry Springer after Carl Paladino accused Andrew Cuomo of being unfaithful to his ex-wife Kerry Kennedy during their marriage in an interview with Politico.

After blasting the New York Post for showing up at the home of his child and her mother, he asked “has anybody asked Andrew Cuomo about his paramours,” as his campaign manager Michael Caputo reportedly added, “when he was married.”

Neither Caputo nor Paladino had any evidence to support the claim.

Earlier in the campaign, Paladino admitted to having an affair of his own earlier in the campaign and acknowledged he had a 10-year old daughter with a woman other than his wife.

According to Politico, Paladino could offer no evidence to support his rival had cheated on his former wife, the daughter of Robert Kennedy, with whom he has three children.

The divorce was finalized in 2003 and Kennedy recently said she would back Cuomo for governor, Politico said.

A Cuomo spokesperson fired back at the allegations, telling Politico “We have not and will not descent into the gutter with Paladino, [his campaign manager Michael] Caputo and [GOP operative Roger] Stone. We’re not going to start now because the people of New York deserve a better dialogue from their candidates and journalists.”

But Paladino's headline-worthy antics didn't slow down. Following the Politico interview, Paladino got into a shouting match with a New York Post reporter Fred Dicker, according to a video posted on the New York Daily News web site. He accused Dicker of working for Cuomo and had to be restrained by Caputo.

"I want to know why you sent your goons after my daughter, Fred," Paladino yelled. "You send another goon to my daughter's house and I'll take you out, buddy!"

When asked if his erratic behavior was "appropriate" behavior for a gubenatorial candidate, Caputo snipped, "It's appropriate behavior for a man who just met the man who sent photographers to take pictures of his 10-year-old daughter."

He then accused Dicker of working for Cuomo's apartment and said that he was off of the campaign list. "You can go back to covering Cuomo and kissing his butt."
