Bicyclist Struck by Flatbed Truck in Midtown Hit-and-Run

MIDTOWN — A flatbed truck struck a man riding his bicycle Thursday night at East 59th Street and Second Avenue and then fled the scene, police said.

Emergency responders rushed the 45-year-old man to Cornell Hospital around 11 p.m. in critical condition, police said.

The truck took off heading north on Second Avenue, according to police.

An investigation is ongoing.
