MANHATTAN — Now playing in a theater near you: bedbugs.

The Times Square AMC Empire 25 closed its doors Tuesday night to exterminate the creepy crawlies after moviegoers complained about bites, myfoxny.com reported.

The AMC complex, located on West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, found bedbugs in at least one theater, according to the news outlet.

The theater had taken "aggressive and pro-active steps to help ensure our theatres remain free of bedbugs," AMC spokesman Justin Scott said on the company's website. The space is scheduled for a follow-up treatment in two weeks, Scott said.

The theater was open as of Wednesday.

The Empire 25 wasn't the only theater to battle with the blood-sucking bugs: the Magic Johnson Harlem 9, was also treated, Scott told CNN.

The two theaters are just the latest locations to play host to New York's increasing bedbug problem.

Businesses around the city have had reports of infestations, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Victoria's Secret and CNN at the Time Warner Center.
