UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman in her 20s was discovered dead Thursday in the Hudson River near 70th Street and the West Side Highway, police said.

The unidentified body was pulled from the water by the Harbor Unit at 8:08 a.m. after the NYPD responded to a 911 call, according to police.

The cause of death is unknown at this time. The woman's body had been in the water long enough to skew identifying features, police said.

“You have to realize that when the body’s been in the water for that long, it’s hard to determine specifics about its identity,” police said.

The woman's identity was still unknown Thursday evening, NYPD said.
