MANHATTAN — Terror suspects arrested in Pakistan have admitted helping Faisal Shahzad plan to blow up Times Square - and accused their interrogators of "siding with the infidels," the Associated Press reported Saturday.

Two of the six men detained in the country following Shahzad's failed attack on New York on May 1 expressed pride for their part in the scheme, the AP was told.

Interrogators said they  "proudly" described Shahzad as their friend, and consider that they did nothing wrong.

Pakistani authorites described the six as being members of the country's urban elite, and several were reportedly educated in the U.S.

One of the pair who have admitted a link to the plot, identifed by the AP as Shoaib Mughal, is described as being a go-between for Shazad and the Pakistani Taliban.

The other , identifed only as Shahid, is alleged to have helped get money to Shahzad. The Pakistani suspect is said to have an MBA from a U.S. university and to have met Shahzad while studying in America.

The other four detainees expressed hatred for the U.S., but have not admitted any part in the Times Square attack, a Pakistani official told the AP.

Shahzad, 30, a U.S. citizen who was born in Pakistan but lived in Connecticut,  has admitted leaving an SUV rigged with a homemade bomb in Times Square. It failed to explode.
