UNION SQUARE — Nordstrom Rack, the budget brand of the high-end clothing chain, will officially open in Union Square next week.
The company announced on Nordstrom’s website that it will move in at 60 E. 14th St., where Virgin Megastore used to be, on May 11. The announcement comes about a year after news broke that a Nordstrom Rack would be moving into the area.
The Union Square Partnership, the neighborhood's business improvement district group, said in its monthly newsletter that they welcomed the arrival of Manhattan’s first Nordstrom.
The store will sell its items at 50 to 60 percent off original prices, offering more than 3,000 jeans, 25,000 shoes and 800 handbags, according to the Partnership.
