MANHATTAN — Bret Michaels, Poison frontman and reality TV star, is in critical condition after suffering an apparent brain hemorrhage, several news outlets reported.

Michaels, who is on this season of Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice," was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after a severe headache, the rocker's New York-based PR rep told the Associated Press.

Doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem, the AP said.

Michaels was in "big, big trouble and the prognosis is not great," Trump told TMZ.com.

'He's a great competitor and champion, and I hope he will be fine,'' Trump said in a statement released Friday, according to the AP.

Michaels remains in intensive care under 24-hour surveillance, a note on his Facebook page reads.

"Please remember Bret is, and always has been, a fighter and survivor and is under the best medical care possible," the note said.

"I am confirming that Bret's condition is serious," Poison drummer Rikki Rocket posted on Twitter.

The rocker's rep posted on his site that Michaels was suffering from slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness, the Daily News reported.

Michaels, 47, a diabetic, underwent an emergency appendectomy last week before he was to perform at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas, the AP reported.

Michaels rose to fame fronting hair metal band Poison, which churned out such hits as "Nothin' but a Good Time," "Every Rose Has Its Torn" and "Unskinny Bop."

More recently, he's been seen on VH1's "Rock of Love," a show where women vied to become Michaels' love interest, and on "Celebrity Apprentice."
