FINANCIAL DISTRICT— The 9/11 Memorial Museum is teaming up with one of Downtown's most famous residents, actor Robert De Niro, and producer Jane Rosenthal to raise money from local businesses and residents.

Donors can sponsor cobblestones outside of the memorial at Ground Zero for $100 or $500, depending upon the placement of the stones.

The $500 donors will get a cobblestone lining a clearing within a grove of trees which will be used for special ceremonies. The $100 cobblestones will line the path of the memorial plaza, a landscaped space surrounding the two acre-sized 9/11 Memorial pools.

Contributors will get special "Signs of Support" window decal for their business identifying them as a donor.

Sponsors who pay $1,500 get both the cobblestone, and the window decal, along with an invitation to a reception.

De Niro is adding to his weight to the fundraising driving by sending letters to local businesses, asking them to donate.

So far, the museum has raised more than $366 million from more than 170,000 individual contributions.
