MIDTOWN WEST — Ford introduced its first Lincoln hybrid car at the 2010 New York International Auto Show on Wednesday at the Javits Center.

The gas-electric version of the 2011 Lincoln MKZ will be the most fuel-efficient luxury sedan available, getting an estimated 41 miles per gallon, Ford representatives said.

The MKZ will be entering into the very small market of hybrid luxury sedans that includes Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz. Sales of those manufacturers' models have not been overwhelming, as hybrids aren't generally viewed as performance vehicles.

Other automakers, such as BMW, Chevrolet, and Volkswagen, also debuted new cars at the Auto Show Wednesday.
