BATTERY PARK CITY — Downtown motorists can expect delays this weekend on West Street due to construction of the new Liberty Street pedestrian bridge.

The construction on the three-laned street was supposed to take place last weekend, but was postponed due to the snowstorm.

Only one northbound lane will open lane from 6 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday, when two lanes will be opened until 5 a.m. Monday.

The new bridge sends pedestrians to a new elevator and stairway at Cedar and West streets.
