MANHATTAN — A man is in serious but stable condition at Harlem Hospital after firefighters rescued from a Harlem apartment fire early Sunday, the Daily News reported.

Firefighters arrived roughly four minutes after a neighbor called 911 to the apartment in the Drew Hamilton Complex.  They said the apartment was cluttered with furniture, according to the News.

After searching the apartment, they reportedly found the victim, identified as 58-year-old Louis Falcone, unconscious.

Investigators told the News they believe the fire may have been sparked when Falcone fell asleep smoking.
