Rudy Giuliani, 9/11 Mayor, Forgets that 9/11 Happened Under George W. Bush

MANHATTAN — "America’s Mayor" Rudy Giuliani appeared to forget about 9/11 during an interview on "Good Morning America" Friday morning.

“We had no domestic attacks under Bush. We’ve had one under Obama,” Giuliani said on the show, completely forgetting the World Trade Center attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Giuliani went on to say that the president should follow Bush’s lead when it comes to terrorism policy.

New York City’s former mayor ascended to the national stage on the strength of his leadership in the days following the Sept. 11 attacks and according to several pundits, ran a presidential campaign based on it.

Giuliani's spin doctors were quick to the scene, saying he was “clearly talking post-9/11 with regards to Islamic terrorist attacks on our soil,” according to ABC News.

“It’s interesting that the mayor of New York had forgotten that,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said of Giuliani’s selective amnesia.
