The creators of the FOX hit TV show "Glee" won't be inviting NBC executives to Thanksgiving dinner anytime soon.

NBC executives cancelled a musical performance featuring the cast of "Glee" that was being planned for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The cast, which features the lives of a group of musically gifted but socially challenged teenagers in Ohio, was prepared to sing "Don't Stop Believin'" when NBC pulled the plug on the performance, the New York Post reported.

Although sponsored by Macy's, the parade is broadcast on NBC. The broadcast has featured performers from rival networks in previous years, including contestants from "American Idol" (FOX) and actors from "High School Musical" (Disney-ABC).

However, the popularity of "Glee" and the fact that it's still on the air was a deal breaker for NBC this time around, according to sources cited by the Post.

"['Glee'] is on the air right now, and we'd be promoting one of the properties on another network," an NBC source told the paper.

"Glee" series creator Ryan Murphy responded to the decision by NBC statement published in the Daily News on Tuesday.

"I completely understand NBC's position, and I look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float," he said.
