As the fourth anniversary of Sandy arrives, resiliency in flood-prone Red Hook remains a concern.

Saturday marked the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Sandy's devastating blow to New York City.

The mayor marked the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Sandy taking questions on Build It Back. 

Local nonprofit Red Hook Initiative surveyed more than 200 tenants of the public housing complex.

"Red Hook WaterStories 1.0" launched in time for the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Sandy.

The program, launched in 2013, has been bogged down by bureaucracy from the start. 

The mayor promised last year that the program would be finished by the end of 2016. 

The Lower East Side bounced back faster than the Rockaways, despite similar damage, a study found.

Officials allocated the money to rebuild the New Dorp Beach Friendship Club in 2014.

Owner Jared Shepard said the bar never fully recovered from the extensive storm damage.

The flood maps, released in 2015, put too many homeowners in a high-risk area, the city argued. 

Residents spoke out against the city's Hurricane Sandy recovery at a public hearing Wednesday. 

Luis Mendes helped clean up Ground Zero after 9/11 and is now at the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

The city is diverting $150 million in federal funds from flood prevention in Red Hook and the Rockaways.

More than half of the original registrants have dropped out of the program since 2013.
