The City Council is set to vote on the Cabaret Law's repeal on Tuesday afternoon.

Matthew Demar, who raps under name "Political Panic," threw his hat in for the newly created position.

The Office of Nightlife will be up and running in 60 days, the mayor announced Tuesday.

The city said it would support a repeal of the controversial cabaret law. 

The bill would create a task force to identify issues help smaller venues come up to code.

Councilman Rafael Espinal said that while the plan is not perfect, it's the "best possible plan."
