Part of the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance monthlong Art Stroll, Don Rice, the co-organizer of “Lost Inwood,” expands his Indian Road Cafe presentation from earlier this year to include information about running water in Inwood.

According to Rice, running water wasn't available to Inwood residents until the later part of the 1800s, but locals tapped into a network of network of springs and wells throughout northern Manhattan. Rice maps those out and shows attendees where remnants of the water works remain.
