GothamSchools.com will partner with DeMatteis Organizations and Mattone Group, co-developers of Azure, to discuss new, Common Core curriculum-centered standards. The event will take place in Azure's retail space, at 333 East 91st St., from 5 to 7 p.m. The program will be a gallery exhibit and panel discussion of student work, focusing on how the curriculum relates to language arts classes. The talk, moderated by GothamSchools’ Elizabeth Green, will feature Shael Polakow-Suransky, Chief Academic Office and Senior Deputy Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education; Mark Anderson, a fourth-year special education teacher; and Sandra Stotsky, a Common Core critic.
