British-born choreographer Keely Garfield presents "The Telling of the Bees," a dance performance based on the forgotten custom of telling bees when their beekeeper died. The tradition was believed to keep the bees from fleeing the hive or from dying.

Garfield's work has been performed at festivals and theaters across the nation and even internationally, and she is the recent winner of a 2012 "Bessie," the New York Dance and Performance Awards.

The performance will run at The Chocolate Factory Theater March 13 to 16 at 8 p.m.
