Author Alanna Cooper will talk at the Central Queens Y in Forest Hills about her new book on Bukharan Jews.

Cooper began her research when she taught at a Jewish school in Forest Hills. On Monday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m., she will talk about the Queens Bukharan community, and its struggle to adapt while preserving their culture at the same time.

Cooper teaches at Boston University.

The talk is open to the public, with a $6 donation suggested.
