A new exhibit at the Bronx Museum of the Arts includes photos and text about a "prayer call" that unites far-flung members of a Bronx church, many of whom are live-in healthcare aides who cannot attend church services.

Todd Heisler, a New York Times staff photographer who has won two Pulitzer Prizes for photography, took the photos. Susan Hartman, a journalist whose stories have been featured in The New York Times, Newsday, and The Christian Science Monitor wrote the essay.

The prayer phone call, held at least twice a day, connects members of Ebenezer Assembly of God Church in the Bronx. On their cell phones, singing prayers in Twi (the language most spoken in Ghana), church members connect with their pastor, Benjamin Boakye, and each other.
