An assortment of rare italian string instruments — all hailing from the private collection of Sau-Wing Lam, a famous music appreciator — will be on display from Dec. 18 until June 30, 2013 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Ave.) The exhibition will include nine renknown violins and one viola, such as the Baltic violin by Giuseppe Guarneri “del Gesù” (1698-1744), and the Scotland University and Bavarian violins by Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737).
