Total Equity Now is collecting new and like-new books that will be delivered to families and people living in shelters and transitional living facilities across Harlem as part of its second annual Literacy Across Harlem March, Book Drive & Community Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 5.

To be a part of the march, gather at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 5 at one of two Literacy Across Harlem community-bookstore partners: La Casa Azul Bookstore (143 E. 103rd St., between Park and Lexington avenues) or Sister's Uptown Bookstore & Cultural Center (1942 Amsterdam Ave. at 156th Street).

Bring two books: your favorite book of all time and a new or gently used book to donate to a Harlem child, teen or adult living in a homeless shelter or studying in an adult and family literacy center.

From there, participants will march to the Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park. The event will continue until 4 p.m. at Marcus Garvey Park .
