The Village Temple, Greenwich Village's 65-year-old Reform congregation, will present a special event focusing the Jewish people of the Cape Verde Islands.

An Erev Shabbat worship service led by Rabbi Chava Koster and Cantorial Soloist Gerard Edery will include Cape Verdean-themed music. A presentation by Alma Gottlieb, University of Illinois anthropologist, will follow. The evening will conclude with an Oneg featuring Cape Verdean-themed dishes.

Children ages 8-10 are invited to a Junior Congregation worship service, also to commence at 6:45 p.m. Children ages 3-8 are invited to attend Shabbat Kinder Care during the services.
