In the first of a series of hip-hop forums, several of the form's founding fathers will offer an oral history of the movement's early years.
Panelists at the free forum include: Grandmaster Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, Nene Ali, and graffiti artist Lava “Straightman” Mercado.
The forum wil touch on the movement's early history, as well as its values and its relation to present-day hip-hop.
The event at Norwood's Beso Lounge was organized by the Hip Hop Consulting Committee, a group of entrepreneurs, community organizers, artists and other hip-hop enthusiasts.
