Join in a family cooking class that compares the cooking techniques of today with those of 150 years ago. Kids will learn how to churn butter, bake bread and grind their own spices.

Kids will be lead by Sarah Lohman, a cooking expert and historian.

Among the activities will be making and eating cinnamon toast.

Email familyprograms@nyhistory.org or call Rachel Walman at (646) 293-9922 to RSVP.

There is a $10 materials fee; all participants must be at least 8 years old.
