A discussion about the East River Esplanade at the the Museum of the City of New York, presented in partnership with Civitas.

Last fall, the nonprofit group Civitas sponsored an ideas competition to reimagine the East River walkway, from East 60th to East 125th streets, in an attempt to urban issues as varied as community access to recreational space and the threat of rising water levels.

The winning designs are on display at the Museum of the City of New York.

Join members of the selection jury including Signe Nielsen, principal at Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects, and lawyer Albert K. Butzel, veteran of the battle over Westway, to hear about the winners they chose from 91 proposals.
