The Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum is hosting an educational kid-friendly program on Governors Island Aug. 4 and 5 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Building 110. The drop-in class will focus on tessellations, patterns that fit together like a puzzle, and kids will learn to create their own repeating designs. Free, but advance registration is required.
