The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, housed in one of the eight oldest buildings in Manhattan, presents an exhibition showcasing the historical art of transforming human hair into jewelry pieces signifying friendship and love. "The Art of Hair Work: Love and Memory in the 19th Century" demonstrates the techniques of hair weaving and introduces visitors to the social and fashion history of 19th-century New York.

Access to the exhibit is included with admission to the museum and is free for members.
