Pianist Alex Brown, whose debut album "Keyboard Magazine" called "a veritable master class in the art of modern jazz piano," performs live at Terraza 7.

Brown has played with a variety of established musicians, including saxophonist Miguel Zenon, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He was also a member of Paquito D’Rivera’s ensemble since 2007, where he received a 2010 Grammy nomination for the album "Jazz-Clazz."

Graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory,  Brown lists classical, rhythm & blues, hip-hop, Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian music as influences.

The Alex Brown Quartet performs live at Terraza 7 on Jan. 31, at 9:30 pm. Admission is free, but there is a $5 cover charge for upstairs mezzanine seating.
