Flushing Town Hall and Terraza 7 pay homage to Afro-Amerindian music: the blending of the Indigenous traditions and African traditions in the American continent manifested in Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

La Cumbiamba NY will be performing Cumbia music from the Caribbean Coast of Colombia.

Moneco will be representing Peruvian-style Cumbia music, or “Chicha.”

Radio Jarocho, playing the sounds of Veracruz, Mexico, play Afro-Caribbean and Andalucian music. Taking the namesake of Veracruz's son jarocho music, New York-based Radio Jarocho's inspiration comes from that region.

The event is at Flushing Town Hall, 137-35 Northern Blvd. in Flushing, Jan. 26, 6 p.m. There is a $20 cover, $15 for Flushing Town Hall members and students with I.D.
