BROOKLYN — A thief twice snuck into a bike storage room in a luxe Williamsburg loft building to steal $11,000 in high-end bikes, police said.

The burglar, who was captured on surveillance video, went into storage room at The Ice Cream Factory building at 347 Berry St., near South Fifth Street, early on July 26 to steal a Trek and a Specialized Langster bike worth a total of about $2,210, an NYPD spokesman said.

The 38-year-old victim, a tenant in the building, last saw the bikes in the storage room on July 21 and reported them stolen soon after the theft, police said.

Police released footage of that theft on Tuesday afternoon.

The thief then returned to the same building to steal a Low bicycle worth $9,000 on Sept. 3, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear how he got into the building.

Staff at CitiRealty, the company doing leasing and marketing for the building, didn't immediately return a request for comment. The building's website didn't list any other contact.

The thief was described as wearing a knit hat, sweatshirt and black pants during the July burglary, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
