Brick Crashes Through Roof of Brooklyn Bus, Injuring Rider, Police Say

By Trevor Kapp | October 23, 2017 11:39am

THE BRONX — A brick crashed through the roof of an MTA bus in High Bridge Sunday night, injuring a straphanger inside, police and the MTA said.

The Bx13 bus was traveling along Ogden Avenue between West 166th and West 167th streets around 9 p.m. when the brick broke through the roof and landed in the rear of the bus, cutting a 19-year-old rider's leg, the NYPD and MTA said.

He was treated at Lincoln Medical Center for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, police said.

The other 24 people onboard weren't hurt, police said.

Investigators think someone threw or dropped the brick, but added that their investigation is ongoing.
